Pediatric Eye Care and Vision Therapy
Due to the very nature that children are still growing, there are some strategies for correcting visual problems in children that are more effective than glasses and surgery combined. This approach is called vision therapy.
It is a form of physical therapy that incorporates training of the brain and eyes. Through a series of procedures, much as in any type of sports training, a child can develop (or recover) visual skills that reduce or eliminate the need for eye wear or surgical procedures.
Of course, not all childhood vision problems can be solved through the non-invasive procedures of vision therapy, but it should be thoroughly eliminated as an option before proceeding to more expensive and potentially dangerous options.
